Ravenous Hunger [Skirmish] [Adelina]

A foul stench lingered in the air. This was not out of the ordinary. Shinagawa, a festering ward overrun by ghouls, was the stomping grounds of Aogiri. The Ghoul terrorist group had become a bit of a thorn in the CCG's tender side. It was to the point that the CCG tended to steer clear of these shark-infested waters. Hell, even some ghouls did their best to avoid the 9th Ward as it was not rare for ghouls to turn on one another.

So why then, pray tell, would Adelina be walking through the streets of the desolate Ward? Simple. She was a prospective member of Aogiri. She relished in the supremacy of walking as a wolf does among sheep. It was utterly intoxcating. Unlike other ghouls who hunted to satisfy their own hunger exclusively, Adelina's pleasure was far more intimate. The thrill of the hunt. Watching her prey scurry away futilely. It was practically salivating just fantasizing about it. 

Speaking of salivation, Adelina felt the soft rumbling of her stomach. She briefly sighed, bringing her hands up to her face. She muttered to herself ever so softly, "Mmm... how I could go for a juicy and tender piece of meat right now.." There was one problem with Shinagawa. While the CCG strayed largely far away, rampant ghoul activity struck fear into the hearts of its population. They had grown reclusive or began to move to other Wards outright. 

Splitting her fingers, staring through the little gap, Adelina saw something truly delightful. Two women simply minding their own business. It was like finding treasure. The ghoul had found her quarry. The girl began to approach them without much of a second thought. She was enticed by the subtleties of the hunt. Luring her prey to a quiet place where she could show them the wonders of the food chain. This time, however, she was just going to indulge herself. 

"Bumping" into the girl on the left as the two of them ducked into an alley for a shortcut, Adelina knocked her over and shortly gasped after. "Oh! I'm so sorry! I've been clumsy all day..." The woman looked up as her friend giggled a little, "No worries. It happens." The ghoul knelt and offered a hand. "Here. Let me help you." As the woman reached for her hand, Adelina would go for the kill. Straightening her fingers, she'd brandish her nails almost as if they were blades. With a swift cut, Adelina left a notable incision with the woman's neck. As blood sprayed from the wound, the shock only hit her a few moments after as she quickly gurgled on her own blood. The other girl suddenly stumbled backwards and fell backwards, staring at Adelina.

As the ghoul licked her blood-stained fingers, her vision shifted to the other lady. Frozen in shock, Adelina finished and began to approach. "No worries, gorgeous. You'll make quite the lovely snack~" Adelina pushed forward, gripping the woman's wrists. Moving to her neck almost as if to embrace her as one does a lover, Adelina bit down into her flesh. A deep wound that left the woman reeling in agony. Adelina, without a second thought, rend the woman's flesh from bone. As blood sprayed onto the ghoul's black body-con dress, the woman's lifeless body fell back as her eyes rolled into the back of her head. Chomping down upon the bit of flesh, Adelina licked her lips and sighed happily. "Mmm. That hit the spot quite nicely~" Sitting down, Adelina began to indulge herself in the spoils of her hunt.

{Character Traits}Electrophoretic - As your Kagune has adapted to conduct the fury of nature, electricity, so has your body adapted to its energy. When struck by electricity of any kind, the body disperses the current thereby mitigating its effects. Wounds suffered from electricity are reduced by 1 Rank and paralysis induced by electricity is negated.

Bio-Battery - Futhering her mastery over lightning, Adelina has learned how to fuel her own body using electricity. If an electric current runs through Adelina's body, natural or artificial, she can turn it into an electric impulse to be used by her nervous system, gaining 3 Stamina. Adelina still receives any wounds that she would otherwise receive from the electricity.

If a foreign source of electricity doesn't exist, Adelina can instead elect to utilize the static charge produced by her Kagune. Upon releasing her Kagune, Adelina gains a # of Static Charges equal to her Potency, starting at 1 for C Rank. She may consume one of these charges to regain 3 stamina. Adelina can regain Static Charges focusing an electric current from her Kagune through her body or being struck by electricity. A Static Charge may only be consumed once per post.

Bio-Battery possesses a key weakness. To get the most out of it, Adelina has to be struck by electric-charged attacks. While she possesses a natural resistance to it, she isn't able to withstand significant punishment. Generating a single Static Charge through her own means requires Adelina to charge her body for about 5 - 6 seconds without moving in any significant manner. Finally, upon using a Static Charge or generating one herself, the electricity forms a wound equal to her Potency.

As she dug into her hastily slaughtered meal, Adelina idly grumbled to herself. "Nnngh.. sloppy. Careless." The ghoul was briefly cursing herself over her negligence. Meals were akin to a ritual for her. They were deeply intimate moments which she shared with her victims. This time, however, she truly was no better than the beasts and filth that roamed Shinagawa. She gently tapped her nails against the lifeless body of her most recent victim as she sighed.

Unbeknownst to her, however, a shadow lingered in the background. As Chie approached ever closer, Adelina wouldn't take notice of her. At least, not initially. Her fingers raked against the flesh of the woman who was unceremoniously slaughtered. She briefly looked up into the sky. "Mmm... I wonder what that Investigator, Wynne, is up to.." She had fond memories of the Investigator. After all, they were once at her mercy. She had even gotten a taste of the girls' flesh. Something about it was different from another human she had just prior. Something... enticing.

The girl shook her head for a moment and sighed. She looked back down at her prey longingly. It was enough to spoil her appetite as she realized just how much of an off day this was for her. Then, of course, she had an entirely other body to eat. The girl turned her head to look at the body, but she'd freeze halfway. She'd see another woman, gripping the body of one of her killings with her kagune. Adelina sat there... staring at this other ghoul. It was almost comical.

The ghoul sighed briefly, gently lifting herself off the pavement. Placing a hand on her hip, she'd address this newcomer. "Well then. Looks like we have a little thief on our hands, don't we?" There was a hint of playfulness in her voice. She wouldn't approach her... yet. After all, if she yielded, there was no need for violence. Adelina idly raised her hand and curled her finger. "Come now, be a good girl and hand her over." Even though she likely wasn't going to even feast upon the second woman, it was the principle of the thing. You don't go around stealing other peoples' food!

Having made her position clear, Adelina couldn't help but narrow her eyes when Chie initially responded by taking a bite out of her quarry. Most interestingly, it was the girls' kagune that seemed to be munching on the corpse. Adelina would've been curious if she wasn't blinded by sheer fucking rage. Then, almost as if to insult her, Chie responded. “Eh, don’t you already have enough food? It’s not nice being greedy.”

Adelina curled her hand into a fist. If Chie listened closely, focusing on Adelina's heartbeat, she'd find it racing. Her temperature spiked. She was utterly livid. The way Chie responded to Adelina's command to hand her over certainly didn't help. “Here you go.” Briefly sidestepping and letting the limb splatter against the ground, blood spraying from the severed limb, Adelina took a deep breath. Normally she kept her composure, but this woman was impertinent. 

Her teeth briefly dug into her lip, allowing a drop of blood to dribble down her chin. She'd stare at Chie hungrily. Inky blackness began to creep into her sclera as she tilted her neck to the side, cracking it. Her teasing smile by this time was also gone. From her upper back, around her scapula, thunderous crackles could be heard. Suddenly, a pair of beautiful, bright yellow wings erupted from her back. Fluttering them for a brief moment, Adelina continued to stare down Chie as her kagune silently crackled.

Her eyes shifted to the mouthed tail. Out of all the kagune she had seen, this was certainly different. It resembled either that of a Rinkaku or even a Bikaku? She couldn't entirely put her finger on it. Regardless, Adelina didn't give it much thought. The tactics of the situation were not as important as the burning desire she felt. Part of her wanted to tear this girl apart for her insubordination. 

Without much warning, Adelina's wings crystallized over. Suddenly, a hail of shards shot out at Chie. The shards, typical of an Ukaku kagune, were not at all intended to deal any damage. Instead, it was Adelina's goal to make the ghoul move. Even if it was merely a few feet, Adelina would follow-up mercilessly. Rushing towards the ghoul, Adelina would try to close the distance and nail Chie with a roundhouse kick, aiming to send the girl into a nearby wall. She wasn't going to let someone get away with this! Especially not some random Ghoul!

{Kagune Appearance}

Kagune Traits:

Thunderblight - The Kagune has adapted its RC Cells to produce a static electricity. Melee attacks with this static electricity produce a small electric shock that make the afflicted body part more difficult to move. When the Kagune is crystallized, the shards produced by this Kagune carry the static electricity which emulate the feeling of numbness. Thunderblight can inflict wounds based on the user's Potency, minus two, to a minimum of C-Rank. Identical to "Simple Element".

As the shards of her Kagune flew true, Adelina watched Chie put her environment to good use. The body which she had taken not more than a few seconds ago was lobbed upward, only for the shards to embed themselves into the subtle flesh. She clicked her tongue in annoyance. "Hmm~ Clever..." It was not entirely what she had expected, but already the other ghoul had demonstrated herself to be resourceful. 

Rushing towards the girl to deliver her roundhouse kick, Chie seemed to have plan of her own. Kicking off a nearby wall and racing towards her, Chie had already shown her impressive bounce. It almost felt as though it rivaled her own. Adelina felt some feedback from the kick and yet there was something clutching her leg. She narrowed her eyes. "A counter?!" Adelina would be incensed. "Impertinent..." 

Under normal circumstances Chie would've been able to use Adelina's momentum against her, but unfortunately, Adelina's raged nearly consumed her. She roared loudly, "RRRRAAAAA!!!", putting every ounce of her anger into the strike. Instead of succumbing to the counter, Adelina would violently send Chie soaring towards the wall as originally intended, leaving Adelina unscathed. She had to press forward. She was going to ruthlessly press her advantage.

She hoped that the fellow ghoul would crash into the wall, but regardless of whether she did or didn't, Adelina's Kagune suddenly crackled violently. Practically seamlessly after delivering her kick, Adelina let out another set of shards to assault the girl. Unlike the ones' prior, however, these would be charged with electricity. If they landed their mark, Chie would suddenly the affected body part going numb. Most would've found this enough, but Adelina had other plans. She was going to tear into her!

After sending out the barrage of electrified shards, the crystals on Adelina's Kagune began to recede. Almost as quickly after, the girl raced forward to deliver yet another two blows. Aiming to grab her by the head and slam it into the wall behind her, Adelina would try to deliver the second strike in the form of a kidney punch, threatening to batter the ghoul mercilessly. While still light on her feet, Adelina was far from elegant, opting instead for pure brutality and overwhelming force.

Adelina watched Chie hungrily as the crystal shards flew straight at the ghoul. Her burning desire had allowed her to overpower Chie through sheer force of will. It was time to maintain the offensive once more. However, even after flinging the ghoul into a wall, Chie was not debilitated. She found the strength to push herself to the side in an effort to avoid the crystal projectiles.

She scoffed briefly. "Fine... try this!" The butterfly ghoul rushed forward to deliver two vicious blows. Unfortunately, both of these would never land their mark. Instead, Chie deftly deflected the two blows. Adelina's iris burned even brighter. She was being outpaced by this woman. Not only that, but Chie proceeded to expertly move around Adelin, preparing to lash out at her. Initially in her blind spot, Adelina bit her lip. This situation was getting rather precarious. Thankfully, however, there had been one crucial moment for the ghoul to take advantage of.

"Learn how to share....god." Seemingly innocuous, Adelina's heightened ghoul senses picked up on it, giving her a vague idea of where Chie was. In a sudden change of pace, Adelina's breathing calmed for a moment. Her mind raced, attempting to encourage herself. "I can't be at the mercy of someone like this... she's nothing!" It was the moment of clarity she needed. The next maneuver would be completely unlike her.

Instead of attempting a swift evade, Adelina instead curled the wings more closely around her body, an advantage of her rather large set of butterfly wings. As she did this, the woman also crystalize her kagune just as before. This time, however, she woul take a note from the playbook of her polar opposite. The resolute Koukaku. As Chie's fists came crashing down against Adelina, she'd effectively block the blow with her Kagune, gritting her teeth as the crystal organ shook. 

In return, Adelina would hopefully utilize the surprise to unleash hell upon Chie. As soon as her fists connected with Adelina, the ghoul would unleash a sudden storm of crystallized shards, each charged with the numbing crackling of electricity. Erupting behind her, the hail would aim to leave anything behind her filled to the brim with countless shards. Even if Chie's kagune dug into her flesh, the ghoul of the Cannibal Court would be in for a rude awakening. Adelina was desperate. A desperate animal backed into a corner would prove even more lethal. Adelina's thoughts would echo as she roared right after hopefully skewering Chie with countless tiny projectiles, "If I'm going down, you're going to Hell with me!!!" 

Despite all her gusto, Adelina recognized the next few seconds for what they were. The pivotal final moments that could potentially decide the outcome of this little match. Even as she hoped that this little attack of hers would prove to be enough, she wasn't sure if it would work. She wasn't sure if she would make it out of this encounter unscathed. After all, she was beginning to feel the effects of her pitiful stamina, a trait inherent to many Ukaku ghouls. She felt as though she was about to keel over with fatigue...

As Chie screamed back at her, Adelina didn't even register the words. She was so focused on trying to win this little skirmish that every other sound was suddenly drowned out. It was haunting. Even as she released the hail of shards, Adelina did not hear the anguished screams of her foe. The electrified crystals dug their way into her kagune, bleeding it dry. It was a visceral experience.

As the wings that adorned her back turned to flesh and muscle once more, Adelina turned to face her opponent. She truly was up against the wall here. Whereas some may have enjoyed the thrill of finding an equal, Adelina was infuriated. "How can I be outmatched by someone like this?!" Chie, in Adelina's eyes, had shown herself to be nothing more than a pest. Vermin that deserved to be exterminated.

She hyperfocused on Chie. The red glint in her eyes burned brightly. The crackling of her Kagune grew furiously. As the blows rained upon Adelina, she tried to dodge them. First a sidestep for the initial blow to her stomach, then another for the second. Already, her breathing had quickened once more. She was drained! This had to end now! As the left hook came rocketing towards Adelina, the girl brought her Kagune forward to protect herself. However, as the blow connected, Adelina would be in for a world of hurt.

The flesh cracked and split. Her Kagune had endured much punishment over the past few seconds. It was too much. Ripping itself apart, Adelina howled in agony. Just as Chie had lost hers, so had Adelina found her pride and joy vanquished. The yellow glow that radiated from her back suddenly died down. Before she had a chance to reflect, the final blow had landed its mark. She felt Chie's fist slam against her, knocking her back and to the side.

Feeling herself slide against the wall behind her, Adelina was practically gasping for air. Her naturally heightened metabolism was far too weak to heal these wounds. She groaned, cursing at herself. "U-ugh.. e-everything hurts. So. much." It was really the first time, in her life, that Adelina had been beaten up this badly. The first time when the option to retreat sounded better. Alas here she was, battered and broken. Still holding on to a fleeting moment of consciousness, the girl stared up at Chie. She was at her mercy...
