Today just seemed to be a busy day. A constant stream of pedestrians crowding the busy sidewalks of the street. Men and women alike from all walks of life. Hard hats with torn clothes marked construction workers, fancy suits avoiding contact in the businessmen and women along with plenty of students on their way to their next class. Though despite that, most of them would likely share a commonality. They were residents of the Fifteenth Ward, Suginami. Among them, however, was a newcomer. A stranger to the ward who would be treading through this sea of pedestrians.
Her honey gold hair catching the light perfectly only contrasted by her darker clothing. A black party dress that sunk down to just above her ankles with two slits, one on each side, that revealed the fair complexion of her legs underneath. A thin translucent mesh showing skin from her neck just to above her bosom with sleeves that reached to her wrist. Overall Adelina seemed dressed like a vampiress. A mistress of the night. This was further displayed with the pendant that hung from her neck, visible behind the mesh around her neck. It was a pentacle, resting peacefully against her skin.
Adelina truly did adore the gothic fashion that she gravitated towards as it did also help with her hunts now and then. It seemed that popular culture made having a gothic partner all the rage. As she passed by numerous individuals, she took note of them. There were certain things she came to expect. Men eyeing her with interest. Even some women every now and then if she was lucky. The ire and jealousy of middle-aged wives who wished that they could be as young as Adelina once more. These were just facts of her life that she came to accept. She even incorporated it into her hunting style.
Her eyes carefully darted across those around her. She could feel herself salivating even if it was just for a moment. There were so many delectable treats nearby. Unsuspecting men who were desperate enough to accept her offers immediately. Married gentlemen whom she could attempt to pry away from their loving spouses to an untimely demise. Even some women who Adelina was sure had only an empty home to look forward too. She was getting hungry too. Her mind drifted for a moment. "Perhaps now would be a great time to find myself a meal...it's been so long after all..."
Adelina was nomadic in nature. Sure, she had a home to return to. A place to call her own, but she enjoyed traveling. For the differences in culture and most importantly, the different choices in cuisine that she could choose from. If this were her home, she would have ducked into a book or coffee shop to attempt to lure unsuspecting victims. Unfortunately this was not her home. She was in uncharted waters. Furthermore was the population density and the afternoon sun beating down on her. It would be hard to find a discreet area without the cover of night. Besides, she was not about to start trouble...yet.
As she walked for a few moments, a familiar smell aroused her curiosity. The sensitive senses of a Ghoul certainly had its perks and the sweet aroma became instantly familiar to Adelina. Lavender. Camellias. Lotus. The lovely scent of flowers immediately calmed her nerves. The desire to feed had subsided. Her plan for securing a next meal evaporated. Right now all she could focus on were those flowers. Perhaps she could find something. A souvenir to take home. A flower to brighten her days to come. Besides, the next time that she brought a victim, the smell of flowers could lure them in further.
Soon, the ghoul would be upon the flower shop. What she originally assumed to be a modest little shop in Suginami proved to be a larger shop with countless flowers. Adelina walked forward to one of the pots, gazing upon rows upon rows of a variety of flowers. The variety made it appealing to Adelina. Suddenly, Adelina's hands rummaged through a purse that was hanging off of her side. With dexterous hands she would retrieve both a small sketchbook and a pencil. With some degree of proficiency, she began to draw what she saw. Art was a little side hobby of hers.
Eyeing the camellia carefully, she began to sketch it upon her notepad. First the thick strong branch which served as the foundation. Every now and then she would leave some space to add supporting branches soon. Her hand would move as she drew to the side, slowly adding numerous branches that would soon house numerous flowers. Soon it was time to add the flowers themselves. The number of flowers on the branches would vary, taking her about ten or so minutes. With the rather lovely sketch finished, she slowly began to add a personal touch. A line of bees moving towards a single flower as one sat upon its petals. As she finished, she chuckled and held on the notepad tightly, inspecting the numerous flowers that were represented within this high-end flower emporium.

The sun was out, the day was in full swing and Dorian was working as usual in his favorite place to be Nature's Reserve. The smell of flowers heavily present with the subtle differences depending on what section of the shop a person was in. Dorian was currently towards the front of the shop watering the rosy dawn lilies. Though he had many flowers he enjoyed these were his favorite. They had such a unique coloring to them and they could have a magnitude of variations. So even better there were never two of the same lilies. Time went on as the day he continued to work caring for the various plants throughout the store. From the flowers, to trees, even a small section dedicated to just grass of all things. When the bell rang, signaling the entrance of a potential customer he didn't even notice from how focused he was on caring for the plants. Thus when a few minutes passed and he finally made his way towards the Camellia to water them he found another person present. He smiled as he watched her draw a single flower in question. He chuckled to himself before walking to another section to give her all the time she needed to draw out her flower. She seems very invested into her drawing. It'd be rude of me to ask her to move so I'll just wait until she goes to another section of the shop or comes to the counter. Dorian smiled to himself as he put down the watering can and started scouring through the section dedicated to roses, ensuring none were wilting or looking less than their best. In the meantime if the potential customer looked his way she'd notice he was dressed pretty plainly. He had a short sleeved grey shirt with blue jeans on and tan working boots. However his front side had an apron on that was dark green and looked to be well used given it had a few stains from dirt and fertilizer. It even had a couple small threads poking out at either side at various intervals showing this was by no means a new apron. The one thing that might come off as strange though would be Dorian's lack of gloves. Some of the plants were prickly and with Dorian's man hands fairly muscular physique. It'd be pretty surprising if he didn't manage to get cut at least a bit from the thorns several plants throughout the shop had on them. Yet here was Dorian looking like he'd never been cut by any of them. Instead though his electrical scarring was on full display given the scars climbed up his hands, through his forearms, and up to his shoulders before finally disappearing. General idea of overall layout and how many different plants are present Specific Lilies Dorian was initially working around

Adelina focused on the camellia in an attempt to get a good picture. After all art was a little side hobby of hers. Was she fantastic at it? No. But she was competent enough to fashion a decent picture. After a few minutes of bringing pencil to paper, Adelina looked down as she saw the sketch in its finished state. A lovely bouquet of Camellia with a trail of bees flying to and fro as they pollinate the flowers. The ghoul could not help, but smile as she placed the notepad into a purse that she carried around with her. She gently slide the pencil into her hair for easy access for later.
After finishing this little hobby of hers, Adelina wanted to see what this shop had to offer. After all it had calmed her down from her lust to hunt. Not that she cared to spare any of the sheep walking around outside. Instead it was for her own safety. Causing trouble in an unknown Ward could result in a number of consequences. She had found that Ghouls were extremely territorial. She was a vagabond. She did not have a true territory that she resided in. Instead she would travel, looking for anyone to enjoy. She found that the feeling of affection and lust enriched the taste of human flesh.
Perhaps it was the pheromones that they released? The Ghoul was not sure, but before she was prepared to hunt within this Ward, she needed to scout it out. Get to know it better. Speaking of getting to know someone better, it would take Adelina not much time to notice Dorian when her eyes focused on him. Her brown eyes settled on him as she certainly did enjoy the sight. He had all the traits of an attractive man. Nearly an entire foot taller than her and likely twice her weight. His ginger hair and ethnic skin was easy on the eyes. Adelina could not help, but bite her lip as she looked upon him.
She simply had to get to know him. She simply had to taste him one day. Such an opportunity would rarely prevent itself again. She began to slowly approach him, feigning some degree of being unsure where to go. As she "accidently" bumped into him, she smiled. Her smile would appear to be radiant, but there was a certain mischievousness about it. She fluttered her eyes for a moment as she giggled in a ditzy manner. "My apologies. I really do have to be careful where I walk~" She continued to smile as she offered a curtsy as an apology. "Forgive my manners. I'm Adelina. You can call me Adel for short. I'm admittedly a little new around here~" She paused as she looked around for a moment. "Are you the owner of this beautiful store?~" Her eyes fluttered curiously for a moment.

Time passed by quickly for Dorian. So lost in taking care of the flowers he hadn't realized that Adelina had finished her drawing and was sizing him up. Truthfully she likely could have looked him over for as long as she wanted given Dorian hadn't a clue about what exactly was going on in his surroundings at the moment. So anything short of Adelina actually commencing physical contact with him wasn't likely to attract his attention. When Adelina "bumped" into him it finally brought him back to reality some, and in fact he jumped a bit. No scream or other obvious since of shock but it would be hard to miss a nearly 6 foot man getting ripped away from the recesses of his mind.
As he looked over at her Dorian returned the smile, not realizing the underlying traits to Adelina's. His was wide and about as bright as the shop was with all it's color. "Don't worry about it, it happens to the best of us. I'm glad to meet you, I'm Dorian. I sadly do not own this shop, that would be Ms. Ichika, I'm simply a part time worker here. She's not in right now or I'd introduce you to her, if you had wanted. Also welcome to Suginami. If you have any questions about the area or the shop let me know, I'll let you know what I do."
"In the meantime however I noticed you were drawing the Camellia's earlier. I hadn't wanted to interrupt you since you seemed so immersed in your drawing but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't curious about how it came out. If that's alright that is. Also is it fair to say those are a favorite flower of yours?" Dorian wouldn't register anything off about Adelina. To him she was simply another potential customer or potentially a fellow floral enthusiast. Which while not uncommon wasn't exactly commonplace with younger women like Adelina. Mostly the enthusiasts would come in the form of older women and the occasional older man. Or people who clearly were in house design.
Thus Adelina felt like a breath of fresh air for the shop. Something he wanted to enjoy for however long it would last. In the meantime while Adelina spoke he'd continue back to looking over the roses and them moving onto the section dedicated to lilies again and eventually work his way to the Camellia's since that was his original intention prior to her entrance. Even if he wasn't looking at her specifically it'd be obvious he was paying attention to whatever she'd say.

As Adeliana looked up at the clearly taller man, she gave him a glance from head to toe. She gently tapped her cheek in admiration as he was certainly an attractive man. Built well physically, tall as a giant and lovely tan skin all perfectly proportioned. His ginger hair was long and luscious as well. All in all, Dorian appeared to be a man that not even Adelina would mind getting seduced by. Seduction, of course, was her job however. It was time to gauge interest and then try to swoop him off of his feet with her natural charms.
The Ghoul was well aware that her body was a weapon. A weapon that she could use to prey on the desperate and longing. She chuckled, imagining that this shouldn't take too long to accomplish with Dorian. She listened to him carefully, her eyelids fluttering every now and then.
Adelina purred softly as she muttered to herself. "Such a polite gentleman..." Her eyes lit up with joy as he proved to be kind. She always loved the kind ones. She could not explain it, but good-hearted people were always the most delicious. She would simply nod politely for now as her voice rose. Years of being a social butterfly has allowed her to pick up some traits. It was usually best not to scare them off right away. Adelina's voice sounded soft and tender, downright happy. Her eyes continued to stare into Dorian's as she maintained a smile throughout her entirety of speaking.
"I see. I would certainly love to meet this Ms. Ichika sometime~" A giggle emerged from her lips as she continued. "Thank you for your kind welcome. I have to admit that I've always wanted to visit. This flower shop is known even in the other Wards. It is really quite impressive really. I was convinced that the workers would be equally impressive and I certainly have to admit..." Her eyes scanned Dorian up and down quite overtly as she grinned. "I can't say that I am unimpressed with what I've seen so far. Dorian is quite the lovely name. Are you native to here?~"
She would give the human some time to answer the question before she seemed to be probed about her drawing. "In the meantime however I noticed you were drawing the Camellia's earlier. I hadn't wanted to interrupt you since you seemed so immersed in your drawing but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't curious about how it came out. If that's alright that is. Also is it fair to say those are a favorite flower of yours?" She smiled briefly as her hands elegantly slid into her purse. With some level of dexterity, she produced the notebook that she had earlier quite quickly.
Her fingers quickly danced across pages, allowing Dorian see some of her prior work if he paid attention. Numerous flowers that were simply sketched. Sometimes the whole image would be more abstract, but typically it was merely flowers with expected creatures such as bees or butterflies. As she came across the piece that she had just sketched, she would hand the notepad to Dorian for him to review at his leisure. She bit her lip gently as she would speak. "I've to admit. I've always found a man's softer side far more attractive than the rougher half~" She winked briefly as her voice became much less innocent. "You surely know how to tend to more than just flowers dear Dorian~" This was typically the beginning of the end. The point where she'd begin drawing her victim in like a siren. She was curious to see how this one would react.

Ahhh~ I'm so glad the stores as well known as Adelina says it is. I still remember when the shop was a hidden gem, a hole in the wall. So many flowers it was like a paradise, still is admittedly, but with how few people came in prior it really was an oasis. Now look at it. Two stories, filled to the brim, and even outsiders are know getting to know the shop! I'm certain the website must be helping that out. I told her it would hehe. I need to make sure Adelina knows I'm paying attention to her. If I don't she'll be upset with me. Thankfully she seems kind enough to have let me continue working. Perhaps I should offer her some tea? I wonder if she even likes tea. Dorian was just turning around when Adelina was yet again devouring Dorian with her eyes.
Admittedly he got a bit embarrassed, this sort of attention wasn't exactly something he was used to. If anything he more often than not remembered people being fearful of him, well Black specifically but they were still in the same body so. . .sorta the same thing. You're not attentive. That is why you don't realize how many are dead on arrival when you walk in a room. If it weren't for you being such an oblivious dork you'd probably be able to get anyone you wanted. Men or women but then there's your whole "preference" thing. Also if it's not obvious she wants you. Just saying. Dorian got a bit of color to his cheeks at Black and Adelina's commentary. While oblivious this was not the first time he had a woman interested in him, though he'd never had SUCH a woman interested in him. Adelina was well above the various other women that had ever been bold enough to hit on him. If you asked Dorian, she was well out of his league, assuming he was ever interested in her like that.
For the time being Dorian wasn't certain how to let her down gently. He always struggled with this as he tried his best not to upset others but these sorta things tended to cause others to be upset more often than not. For now he just needed to think about how to say it so he'd opt to answering her question. " Sadly not. I'm actually a foreigner, born in Brazil if you can believe it. My parents however got the idea in their head to move to Japan and so here we are. Granted they live elsewhere in the country, I came here a few years back originally for schooling. Didn't work out but I'm managing so it's not all bad. Besides now that others are hearing about the shop that means everything Ms. Ichika and I've done are paying off. So I'm glad to hear it's as well known as you've said. Hopefully we'll get more people from other wards."
Before Dorian could be polite and ask what ward she came from he'd immediately remembered the picture and asked her. When Adelina decided to show him her piece, and a quick glimpse of her other work he had to admit he felt incredibly happy. It didn't seem like this was a guilty pleasure of hers but he got the vibe not a lot of people saw her art. And with the sketch she'd done today he could tell she had quite a bit of talent in art. Made him a bit jealous even as his hands practically had arguements with him when he'd get the rare desire to draw. Still it made him smile even wider if that was even possible given it was a flower from his shop. Earth to Dorian. You might want to focus less on the sketch and more on your new friend. . . she's. . . well staring would be an understatement she's practically eye fucking you now. You may need to address her desires that involve you.
Black wasn't kidding. Dorian couldn't quite make out everything Adelina was thinking or trying to do given her body language and expression but her intentions were made VERY plain with her commentary. Dorian took a deep breath and closed her sketch book, handing it back to her before rubbing his arm. Perhaps Adelina wouldn't find this strange given her various interactions with all kinds of men. However where others would be nervous at the thought, Dorian was more concerned with how to break it to her that he simply wasn't interested in her like that. Without realizing it Dorian had lost any embarassed flush and instead was frowning, though not at Adelina. Eventually he sighed to himself, try as he might, Dorian wasn't certain how to be subtle or say it in a way that wasn't blunt. So he'd have to do just that but try to be as careful and kind about it as possible.
"Uhm. . .I uhm. . . I'm sorry. You've been nothing but kind so I feel incredibly bad for saying this, but I uhh. . . I tend to other kinds of flowers." And there he went and chickened out. Trying to be subtle and instead it sounded insultive. DAMNIT THATS NOT WHAT I MEANT. QUICK DORIAN APOLOGIZE AND SAY IT IN ANY OTHER WAY THAT ISN'T INSULTING. He gulped and quickly looked back at her trying to put his hands up, somewhat defensively but ultimately he found himself uncertain with what they could help with. "I'm sorry that was probably the worst way to say that. . Adelina I'm only interested in men. Make no mistake, you could likely make any woman on the street be yours if you really wanted, let alone most men. Even if they were married. But I'm a bit. . . unusual in that regard."
"Please don't take offense, I really didn't mean to be so rude and upset you. I just choked initially, really didn't want to make you upset. Uhh if you'd like I would be more than happy to make it up to you some way. Uhh if you'd like we have kitchen upstairs and I could make us some tea, coffee, or something else if you prefer. If nothing else it's at least a bit more comfortable than simply standing around and talking. . Assuming you want to talk further. I understand if you don't." There's no doubt Adelina could likely read Dorian like a book prior. But if she ever had to wonder what he was thinking before now it was obvious. Dorian had slouched over and was frowing more so than before. It was incredibly obvious he was upset with himself and beating himself up mentally about being offensive to her. Or at least in his mind he had been offensive. It didn't help him whatsoever that Black was laughing like a madman in the back of his mind. For the time being though Dorian would simply wait and see what she did. More than willing to take the slap, punch, or whatever else she deemed appropriate for insulting her.
