Sitting quietly at the bench outside of the train station, Wynne waited for their partner to appear. Their mission for the day was to investigate Suginami, the 15th Ward. Supposedly some odd and suspect things were occurring here, and they needed someone to investigate. The area was considered “safe”, which was probably why the CCG were sending out their Rank 3 investigators rather than those of a higher rank. While there might be potential for conflict, it was unlikely. Their whole purpose for being here was to investigate, nothing more.
Wynne had on their usual outfit for work, a long black robe with white cuff-links and collar. Boots on the bottom and their fanny pack on their waist. Inside of their pack was Serenity, their Quinque, which would come in handy if any combat arose. It never hurt to be prepared, so Wynne always kept it on their person.
Glancing up at the sky, Wynne watched as a few birds fluttered away from their cozy position on a nearby tree. The forecast for the day was clear, so they wouldn’t have to deal with any surprise rain showers. And since it was still a few hours before noon, the temperature was nice as well. A pretty nice looking day for such a bleak mission. Still that was usually how it went.
As they waited, Wynne debated on whether or not they should bring out a book to read. Their partner was supposed to be arriving soon, but they had shone up early, with plenty of minutes to spare. A quick read would help pass the time, but they also wanted to be ready for when their partner showed up. Time wasn’t necessarily of the essence, but it was always good to be punctual. Decisions, decisions.

Dorian took in a deep breath, enjoying the cool morning air and the smell of his freshly brewed tea. Today's was a summer fruit mixture that had a bit of vanilla on the side. Dorian wasn't 100% sold on the idea originally but having a fondness for sweeter tea and quickly realizing that this blend was in fact on the sweeter side of life he'd quickly come to love it. It wasn't often that Dorian would be proven wrong with tea but today was one of those days. And he was glad the owner of the new tea shop had reccommended he try this. He'd have to go back and try the various other blends now just to see how they came out.
That however would be after work today. And given it was only just a few minutes past 8 in the morning he still had a good bit of work ahead of him. Well "work" if you considered the fact he loved the shop he worked at and everything he did there. To him it was more like a paid hobby as opposed to "working", that was a more apt description of his nightly duties. He shuddered a bit mentally as he thought about the fact he did actually have a tasking to do this evening. He'd gotten the message from one of the court this morning in the mail. A bit archaic but ultimately he supposed it would be harder to track since it could be placed anywhere and no one in this ward, and possibly the surrounding would dare mess with someone's mail. Let alone this almost guadishly lavish envelope and parchment.
Dorian had long since been over it but if nothing else he did have to give them credit for their attention to their motto of being "The aristocrats of ghoul society". Still this train of thought didn't bode well and Dorian would be damned if he ruined his morning with thoughts of his mandated tasking and the monsters holding the chains that wrapped around his neck. Unfortunately for him someone seemed to have decided he wasn't going to be in the best of moods today at all. Why? Because as he walked by the entrance to a train station he caught sight of them. Well currently only one, but still. The CCG. He immediately walked faster so he could get away from them sooner.
You do realize they play an important role in why ghouls aren't just slaughtering others don't you? Without their widespread fear you might not be the pet to the court and instead be on a platter of theirs. Dorian grumbled some to himself as Black made their point. Yes, he was probably correct. To a degree it was probably true. But that didn't mean he liked them any more than the Aogiri. Both organizations had made a hell zone out of more than a couple wards in the recent and distant past. Both were blind fools that attacked first without really thinking about the good of anyone. Simply psychopaths in positions of authority, whether legal or illegal. He did NOT want to be involved with them. Even more so considering his ties to the court. If they found out he'd likely be killed on the spot.
Hopefully they left quickly. If not the court may descend upon them to try and keep the ward "safe". By night they'd definitely send someone, hopefully not him. The last thing he needed was the CCG to think humans were suddenly aiding ghouls all over the place. They'd probably lose it if that thought came to mind. Not to mention thier distrust would spark more distrust in them, which would combine to make more sparks of dissent on both sides. Once Dorian was certain he was out of earshot he grumbled to himself quietly after taking a sip of his tea. "For the love of all who are actually innocent here, let them leave soon. This place even in it's false peace is better off than if it had no peace at all."

Despite the morning already being well underway the outlook of the streets made Shioon believe for a moment that perhaps it was all still asleep. As she drove along the pavement, black on black she did not pick up the sight of a few different people walking. None of them seemed to be out for a morning job although that in some sense was understandable since Shioon believed that doing such an activity was best at dawn. Right now though despite riding on Hellsing she couldn’t enjoy the rhythm simply because she knew where she was heading.
This wasn’t going to be just another day where she had to go into an office or some white building and do a little bit of training. This wasn’t even like one of the fun days when she could just use one of the training rooms and practice with her Quinque. It wasn’t a report one or a test, it was one where she was expected to investigate with someone else at the bottom of the barrel alongside her. Of course they were being sent to a safe area yet part of Shioon hoped for the opposite. This was something that she had been anticipating for years now and it was finally time to step out from the shadows of the senior investigators. It was time to start her legend.
She didn’t really like the fact that she would have to leave Hellsing behind in a parking lot for some period of time in order to get on a train. All the same though it meant that she would make a more subtle approach if she found anything. Despite how much she loved the sensation and the feel that the bike gave her she was aware of his noise. No Ghoul would ever be caught off guard if she happened to come across one while riding Hellsing. Still though Shioon couldn’t help the grin that spread across her face as she thought about it once again. One day that would be a warning to all the vermin. Watch out your exterminator is in the area and you better hide because you won’t survive another day otherwise.
Her silver hair was fluttering in the air as she rode like anyone would expect as she got to the train station. Shioon made sure not to just park away from anything else, but to have the keys in her left front pocket. She didn’t really like putting the keys in the large white coat that covered the majority of her body right now, but it was the best option. If she puts them in her pants pockets then it might cause a bit of discomfort with the metal pressing up against her thigh randomly as she moves. Thinking ahead for the worst possible situation and the one that she prays may actually happen, the Investigator that was hoping to just stumble upon an infestation.
It didn’t take her more than a minute to reach the front of the station and find her partner that had been assigned with her. Not something that Shioon was really looking forward to, especially once she saw him . . . her? Whichever they were didn’t matter when they didn’t even look like they could handle an average drunk let alone a starving animal. Perhaps they’d help her find one of them, but trusting this one to handle themselves in a fight and back her up, just based on how they looked, that thought was pretty much out the window. Approaching Shioon didn’t waste any time. “Alright so both of us are here, lets try and get a move on. I saw a convenience store just a little bit down the road so if you want to stop and grab something to snack on or drink lets do it now instead of later. I'm Shioon.” The pale near paper white tiny hand extended outwards to greet her partner as the only sign of companionship as the CCG agents converge.

As Wynne waited for their partner to appear, they noticed an enormous man with orange hair pass by their field of vision. At first they only watched him due to his large size. It wasn’t often you saw someone of his height just walking around after all. After the man looked towards them and increased his pace was when Wynne’s interest began to grow. Wynne themselves weren’t an imposing figure. They knew that for a fact. So why had he decided to hurry up and try to leave?
Narrowing their eyes, Wynne’s thoughts began to race. Did the man know they were from the CCG? They weren’t in their uniform, but they did hold themselves like a trained soldier would. Always alert and with a hand near their bag. And while they did have their badge on them, from the way they were sitting, it was barely in view. Quite the eyesight on him if he noticed that detail. Whatever the reason was, it was still suspicious that the man would try to hurry away. Could he potentially be a lead? As the man disappeared from view, Wynne wondered what to do. Follow or wait for their partner to appear? It could be a lead, it could not. There was no way to tell.
Thankfully before barely a minute passed, their partner for the day appeared. Judging from looks, their partner was a young woman with white hair dressed in a large white coat. Picking themselves up from the bench and shaking Shioon’s hand, Wynne turned towards where the man had vanished before speaking. “I’m Wynne. I may have found a lead while I was waiting for you. A large man, around six feet with brown skin and orange hair somehow noticed I was from the CCG and tried his best to speedily get out of my line of sight undetected. That or he was somehow intimidated by me. You can see why I don’t think it's the latter. Should we pursue?”
Since the two were both of the same rank, neither of them were technically the leader for this mission. Still Wynne didn’t mind deferring to Shioone for what to do. They were more of a support anyways. If Shioone chose to pursue, Wynne would point out where the suspicious man had disappeared too. It hadn’t been too long since he vanished, so they still had time to catch him. But only time would tell if it was actually a lead or not.

Well this was certainly something that Shioon hadn’t been expecting, instead hoping and just like that it had come to pass. Very usual yet Shioon wasn’t going to discount what Wynne was telling her. Shioon didn’t have to think about it, not even hesitating, instead taking a quick turn in order to see if she could spot the individual that was being discussed. Unsuccessful all the same though Shioon could already tell that her body was getting excited at the prospect of what was going on. Although she was wearing the massive white coat that concealed her frame, the one thing that would be most eye-catching was the large rectangle shaped case that Shioon was holding in her left hand. She could feel her grip on the handle tightening with her excitement.
“We’ve no other leads at the moment so let’s pursue this now and see where it might lead us. Lead on, but stay close. I won’t be able to keep you from dying if you get too far ahead.”
Shioon’s obvious confidence might as well have been seeping out from her mouth with how she spoke, but at the moment perhaps that wasn’t a bad thing. All she knew was that Wynne knew the direction of where this large man with dark skin and orange hair went. She had to remember that description in case she came across him later on today or in the future. If they were unable find to find him now she’d have to make it a point to find him soon in order to push what Wynne had just told her.

Dorian had managed to walk away for about 10 minutes before finally stopping and glancing around him. His quick search showed him neither were immediately around him. To which he breathed a sigh of relief. In hindsight the fact he speed walked his way by them when he was casual before hand was probably not his smartest move. It was almost a reaction though, he found it hard to contain himself given they were always watching. If he wasn't careful they'd kill him by nightfall.
He shuddered before taking a deep breath and continuing, at a more liesurely pace to the shop. Relax Dorian. Look you just need to alert them and the court will decide what to do from here on out. In the meantime you didn't put yourself or anyone else in danger, you just noticed they entered the ward. Dorian nodded to himself. He was right. He'd only seen one. As long as he gave a call to someone in the court and informed them his job was done. For now at least. The court would manage where he couldn't. That is to say, if they don't immediately begin watching you further because YOU of all people are reporting in seeing an investigator. Looks very suspcisious don't you think? Think carefully about your next move.
And true to Black's nature there went any self assuarance about his safety. He sighed as he grabbed his face and picked up his pace again towards the shop. He needed to open it. He needed to inform the court. And he needed to get back to his routine. If he continued to let his nerves get frazzled he might accidentally give Black the reigns. Not something he wanted. Especially since Black didn't even care about flowers or plants! He couldn't even make a good tea on their free time. Dorian shuddered immensely. Clearly this was a bad idea if only for that. We've got this. Just don't open up the shop before making the call. Then once you've calmed down we'll open it per the usual. . . Still is Black correct? Would I be painting a target on myself or would this be overlooked. . they were by the train station. . .hmmm.
Needless to say the remainder of the 10 minute walk to the store was filled with tense arguements in Dorian's mind. Not with Black mind you but with himself on how he should handle things. But once the shop was in sight he visibly relaxed, all tense muscles immediately returning to how they'd been prior to this event. The store was big, big for a city store anyway with 2 stories of plants, and even a little patio in front. The sign was hand painted by the owner and had a vine/root like appearance as it wrote out "Nature's Reserves". Dorian took a moment to look over the familiar sanctuary before fumbling with the key to the door and walking in. Making sure to both lock the door behind him and to keep the sign flipped to "Closed".

“I can keep myself from dying, thank you very much. I earned my rank .” Shooting a frown Shioon’s way, Wynne wondered what their partner was on. While they weren’t the strongest investigator, they definitely weren’t the weakest. It wasn’t like they didn’t know how to fight. No, their whole childhood had helped prepare them for this job. Still, now wasn’t the time or place to get into a verbal spat with their partner. They had a man to catch.
Leading the way, Wynne began to walk at a fast pace. Not exactly running, but fast enough to not be considered a normal walking speed. If the two were fast enough, they would be able to catch him, or at least follow him to see where he was going. The man was going to get questioned regardless, but if they waited to confront him, they might be able to find out more information. Still, they needed to catch him first.
As Wynne turned a corner, they were able to quickly spot the elusive man. He was a little ways off, but he stood out, making it easy to spot him. Turning towards Shioone and nodding towards their target, Wynne slowed their pace and began to stealthily follow the man. Thanks to their size, such a thing wasn’t that difficult. Most people were taller than them, and they made sure to use that to their advantage.
The chase continued for ten minutes before finally stopping outside of some sort of shop. One that was filled to the brim with plants. Wynne wasn’t sure what was going on with that, but everyone had their hobbies. Maybe the man they were following was a botanist of some sort? If so, they could relate since they too had some skill in Botany. Once the man went inside, they walked to the door and shook the handle quietly. Sure enough the door was locked. It seemed for the time being, “Nature’s Reserves” was closed to them.
“Well the door’s locked. You think we should barge in or knock first?” Turning towards Shioone, Wynne waited for her input. The prospect of just barging in filled them with nervousness, but with Shioone there, surely such a thing was okay? Sure this could be an innocent person, but you never knew! Lives could be at stake! Maybe there were hostages inside that needed to be saved in a timely manner! Or maybe Wynne’s imagination was running wild. Either way, a decision needed to be made.

Shioon couldn’t contain the degree of attitude that seeped from her expression as she rolled her eyes to the back of her head at the ill revived response to what she had said. They had to keep up and quiet if they were going to find this Ghoul, the only reason that Shioon didn’t start to go off on Wynne. An investigator, a friend human acting on pure emotion without any regard for what had been said. All the silver hair women could think of now was how long it would take for Wynne to be jammed into a situation they couldn’t handle.
That’s how it usually went: some loud and proud idiot that wouldn’t be willing to accept the help from others gets killed. Geez didn’t they know that background and side characters can have that sort of attitude and survive? That sort of thing was only possible for main characters so why were they all trying to be like her? Something that she just didn’t really get nor care about after a couple moments. If she was wrong then very well otherwise it wouldn’t matter as long as this guy was found and could in fact point them in the right direction.
What ensued next though was a chase that had started out exciting only to end in disappointment. Shioon kept quiet while tracking down the large man yet what she saw before her now wasn’t some sort of abandoned building or even a place that one might consider dangerous. It was a damn flower shop. Visible disappointment was on full display across Shioon’s face for a moment until she tried to encourage herself. Perhaps an underground basement or maybe this guy isn’t a ghoul, but knows where they are.
Not really the sort of thing that Shioon was the greatest at nor enjoyed doing, staying hidden and following someone was definitely something she could understand yet even now the fact she had to hide herself just felt wrong. When they finally approached the shop they found that the door was locked and Shioon instinctively raised her right leg ready to deliver a straight forward kick at the glass. She stopped with her long slender leg up halfway realizing that doing something so loud may just be the opposite of what she wants. Not caring about the door, but instead about anyone inside who might run at the noise of breaking glass.
“Well you know my opinion, but . .” Shioon stops as she brings her leg back down to the ground. “Alright you go in the front in a minute. I’m going to circle round to the back and find whatever back door this shop might have in case he makes a break for it.” Just like that Shioon would take off using her long stride to cover the ground at a breakneck pace to the edge of the building and then rushing down the alleyway between it and the next building. After a little over a minute Shioon would find the backdoor and approach, making sure to listen and then when she’d hear Wynne’s voice she would enter in through the back door whether she needed to break in or not.

Dorian had just gone to the register to take a moment to breathe when he spotted the two investigators coming towards the shop. Shit! They did follow me after all. What am I supposed to do now?! The court is going to be actively questioning me about this if I don't call them now! But if I call will they just kick down the door? That's not even mentioning if I get caught talking to ghouls, these sociopaths will kill me! . . . There's also the briefcase that's here!
Dorian was needless to say starting to freak out enough that a panic attack was likely. Chest tightened, breathing sporadic, and he was quickly getting light headed. He didn't have time for this, he needed to act and actually get things set up in case the two decided to come after him not stand here losing it! That's when his entire body went stockframe still, with only his neck twitching some before he was visibly calm again. "I swear I can't let him handle anything given his anxieties. He has a point though." Black simply grabbed the briefcase and went upstairs. Neither investigator would have a chance to see it since the register and staircase were in the back and they were still making their way to the front door.
He could assume that they'd try to come in so it was only a matter of time. Like the court, the CCG did not wait long to get where they wanted. Once upstairs he gave a quick look around for a spot he could place the briefcase and without delay he realized how silly Dorian had been. He'd forgotten the court had considered the prospect of a CCG member coming in. Thus the upstairs kitchen island had a panel that opened up at the side. It was indistinguishible from the rest of the island given it was built into the design that was edged into the wood. A quick smack to it and it opened up with just enough space for the briefcase. He then smacked it again to close it only to hear the backdoor getting smashed in. Poor thing was locked even before Dorian had come in, for obvious reasons, now he'd have to figure out how to tell the manager that at least one door was broken.
"If they're going to come in might as well make them some tea. Hopefully Dorian can help me out with this otherwise it'll come out wrong. . . again." He immediately went to the stove top, grabbed a kettle and filled it with water. Once he placed it on the stove he turned on the electric stove and began looking over their tea selection, a surprisingly wide variety since Dorian himself was a nutjob for it and needed one of everything he could find. When the two finally decided to come up to the second floor Black simply would speak up for them. "I'm in the kitchen. First door on the right. Please refrain from breaking this door, the manager is already going to lose her head at hearing the backdoor is broken. And on my shift no less. Also if you have a preference for tea let me know, we've probably got it."

Wynne’s eyebrows began to raise as they watched their partner prepare to kick through the glass window. Surely kicking down the door was a better option if they were barging in, no? Sure the glass was easier to break, but it also looked quite valuable, plus shrapnel would get everywhere. But before Shioon’s foot touched the glass they stopped. It seems she was going to go through the back in case their suspect began to run, which wasn’t something Wynne considered. Nodding their head, they waited around for a minute or so before giving the door in front of them a hefty knock.
“This is the CCG, open up! We have some questions for you.” Increasing their tone of voice with a wince, Wynne waited for a response. They didn’t particularly like yelling, but they doubted the owner would be able to hear them if they didn’t. While they waited, they placed a hand casually across their fanny pack. It wasn’t likely, but their suspect could take their interest as a threat and prove to be hostile. If that was the case, they needed to be ready.
It was only a few moments later when Wynne heard some sort of crash towards the back. Did Shioone breach already? Their suspect hadn’t answered the door yet, but it hadn’t been that long either. Certainly not long enough to start breaking down doors. As they waited at the entrance, Wynne decided to stand around for about thirty more seconds, and if no one answered, they would follow in the footsteps of their partner. Waiting any longer wouldn’t be wise if their assumption about the noise was correct.

Coming in through the back was something that Shioon figured had to be done, although it gave her a bit more information about the man they had to question now. If he was the owner of this shop or even a good employee then he was thorough, having locked the back door in a part of the neighborhood that wasn’t very dangerous. Shioon was more than certain a good portion of the other buildings would be pretty lax about the very same subject.
Now though coming into the shop and having a quick look, turning her head from one side to another in one turn relying on her unique training of sight to take in the surroundings in little more than a moment yet finding no sign of the suspect. What she did find was that Wynne hadn’t come into the building yet and made her way over physically unlocking the door and letting her partner inside in order to not just prevent further damage to the building, but possibly keep a potential threat in the unknown.
“He’s not on this floor, I don’t see a basement either so must be upstairs.”
As if on cue the voice of a man was heard coming from up the steps. Shioon could tell from the voice that this guy was definitely big, the depth making her think of a heavy drum. Once they got up the stairs Shioon was content to let Wynne do the talking for the moment knowing this wasn’t the sort of thing her talents were geared towards. If he made a move though she was ready to stop him. The only thing that seemed off to her though was how he knew she’d come in from the back door? Hadn’t he already been up here?

The kettle had started to screech as the hot steam was finally getting vented out the spout when two investigators finally made their way up. Once they were on the second floor he could hear their footsteps as they approached which further exasperated Dorian in the back of their collective mind. He took a deep breathe and sighed. Dorian if you'd calm the hell down I'm not going to be able to get us through this. You're freaking out so much you're giving me a headache AND messing with the tea. You and I both know I'm not great at making it to begin with. Now help me out with this so I don't make a fool of ourselves. Dorian was about as anxious as Black had ever "seen", more like felt, him. But thankfully he did seem to calm at the idea of possibly serving awful tea and started whispering to Black what blends to use as well as what bags to offer in the event that they preferred more name brand blends. By the time Black could feel their gaze upon his back he turned around and showed a small bowl of different assorted blends. "Neither of you mentioned a preference so I selected a few for us. I err on the side of sweet blends so I've a mint raspberry blend for myself while the other choices I've got include Earl grey, Camomille, a summer fruit blend, don't ask me what all is in there because it's a lot, and a simple vanilla cinnamon blend." Black would then motion to the nearby patio table and chairs near the kitchen window. The window itself about half the size of the wall and sadly facing the back of the store and showing the alley, buildings, and street behind the shop. "I assume you will be here for a moment so feel free to take a seat, I'll be over with the tea momentarily. Word of warning I'm not great at "making" blends so if they aren't well balanced just know it's a work in progress." With that Black went back to finishing making the blends before grabbing the Earl grey and Camomille bags from a box in the cabinet. It wouldn't take terribly long but there was some mild cursing on Blacks point for having, in Dorian's words, "overfilled the tea bags". He simply rolled his eyes. These two could stew it for a shorter time if they felt so inclined. However Black needed a bit stronger a blend to even begin to taste tea. Once done he took a deep breath attempting to will away the last of Dorian's panic headache. Seeing his efforts be fruitless he opted to gather everything on a tray and bring it over to the table and set it in the middle so everyone could reach it easily. He had however forgotten any sugar or milk, in the even these two needed them. At this point though going after them would delay this "conversation" they'd be having. Assuming they were going to be diplomatic about things in the first place. Instead Black simply sat down in one of the two solo chairs and began making his mint raspberry tea. With a quick glance over the two he figured he'd start the conversation to hopefully get this done and over with sooner than later. "So I believe one of you mentioned having questions, what exactly would you like to know? Or if your not here to interrogate me, what brings you to this quiet shop and demanded breaking down the backdoor?"

Thankfully Wynne didn’t have to break down the door as Shioon arrived moments later to unlock it. It had looked quite sturdy, and they were glad they didn’t have to face off against such a foe just yet. Looking around curiously and nodding to their partner, they looked around for anything suspicious. Nothing strange really stood out by the entrance, which made sense seeing as how this was the very first place people would see. If they wanted to find something incriminating, they would need to look deeper. Perhaps there was something upstairs?
Walking up the steps with Shioon, they both arrived at the sight of their suspect making tea. Not only for him but for both of them as well from the looks of it. In all honesty, they weren’t too sure what to make of such a thing. Was he just being polite, or was it some type of distraction? Or perhaps he was doing so to throw them off guard. They would find out soon enough.
Looking at Shioon from the corner of their eye, Wynne decided to be the one to start the conversation. It didn’t look like their partner was going to speak up anytime soon, and they themselves were fine with taking up that role. “You do know that poisoning or attempting to poison CCG Investigators is a criminal offense right?” Squinting at the tea suspiciously, Wynne decided to forgo tasting it for now. Sure it smelled heavenly, but the man in front of them was still a suspect. It would be foolish to trust him so early on.
Taking the offered seat, Wynne casually placed their hand on their fanny pack. If the man chose to make any strange moves, they were sure they’d be able to pull out their Quinque in time to stop him. Assuming it came to that. Watching the man’s body language for any signs and tells, they began their questioning. “No, we are in fact here to interrogate you. We’re from the CCG as you no doubt already knew. The question is, why did you leave so quickly when you caught sight of me earlier? The CCG is here to protect, only criminals and ghouls need to fear us. Are you one of those Mr…..”

Black listened to Wynne as he finished making his tea. He could feel a mild aggravation at their pointed "reminder" of the ramifications for harming a CCG member. Admittedly it made sense but he couldn't help but be mildly riled up. That's fine one low blow could be returned as they weren't exactly "legally" sound in their actions thus far. Still he'd wait until she'd asked her questions before answering. In the meantime he let the tea continue to stew. It'd need a good bit of time before it was ready to be drank by him.
Once done he looked over both of them. Made it a point to get a full look, which let him see Wynne going for her fanny pack. He raised an eyebrow at her but said nothing on the matter. He was certain the action was enough to get the point across. "I'm aware that it is generally considered a crime to poison anyone, CCG or civillian. Likewise I'd also like to remind you that breaking and entering into any residence, business, or privately owned property without a warrant is also illegal. Even to the CCG, and considering you've yet to show one it's safe to assume you didn't get one approved prior to this questioning. Now please, let's keep this civil so we can be done with it."
Making it a point to look Wynne in the eye Black continued after a breathe. "It's simple. Investigators attract trouble. It's not unlike having a police officer walking around. The chances something happen increase, in the case of CCG investiagors that's even more so given the current on goings in several other wards. I'd rather not be anywhere near the CCG in the event something should happen because of their presence. I am, afterall, only human. A ghoul will make quick work of me and I'd prefer to remain amongst the living. If you don't mind a question of my own, why are you so concerned about someone wanting to remove themself from your presence? Surely you've seen and/or been briefed about common reactions to your presence and how not all are positive in nature?"
Saying his piece Black decided it was time to try the tea. Worst case he would find it underwhelming, as usual, or if he were lucky it'd actually be flavorful. Picking up his glass and giving it a taste would reward him with exactly what he expected. Warm water. He groaned before setting the cup down in mild frustration. Every fucking time. I get the smell but fail to get the flavor. Errrgggggh. Just let it stew more. Just let it stew more. Black continued to stare angrily at the cup for a few moments before calming down and returning his gaze to the two investigators.

Shioon was letting Wynne do the talking knowing full well that this wasn’t something that her lack of patience and blunt manner of speech could handle usually. When she was offered tea her only response would be to hold up her right hand in the universal signal of stop. She wasn’t here to drink tea. Her face would stay a sort of stoic disposition until she saw Wynne make a moment to her Fanny pack and had to consciously keep herself from verbally berating her partner.
“Why would she signal its location! Why would she even give away that we’re willing to use them?”
The questions that Shioon screamed within her own mind at the actions she viewed to be incorrect. Still she remained steadfast, turning her head a few times every minute that past playing it off as having nothing better to do from someone bored. Truthfully though Shioon was making sure to look over everything in the room multiple times in case something new entered the equation.
She’d stay quiet until the man spoke up about how even as CCG agents they’d overstepped their authority by breaking into the establishment. “Unless we’ve reason to assume you’re hiding a Ghoul from us. In which case you’d be in violation of Article 119. In which case you’ll be arrested and sentenced to death. Now don’t turn this into anything bigger than it is already.”
