{CCG Mission: Ghoul Hunt (C-Rank)} Name: Ghoul Hunt (C-Rank) Type: Repeatable Objective: Kill the target; a C-Ranked Ghoul. Payout: 1,500 Ryo + 150 Ryo/post upon successful completion. Description: A C-Ranked Ghoul is beginning to make a name for themselves. Put an end to this before this goes anywhere.
Setsuko sighed as she kept her eyes both glued ahead, with an energy drink in one hand, with her phone in the other. Having spent a majority of the night planning ahead for this mission, to say the girl was exhausted was an understatement. She'd done very little to pack properly, so she was effectively running into this mission with relatively nothing. Not something she was entirely fond of, but at the very least she'd brought Izanami no Mikoto, so she couldn't really complain. As long as she had some way of defending herself, she was happy. That, and she wasn't exactly about to put her partner's life on the line as well. Speaking of partners, who was she paired with for this mission? She checked her phone to view the mission report. After doing a bit of scrolling, she'd seen a face and name; Wynne Hikaru. She hadn't met them before, but she was certainly looking forward to it. In truth, she was glad to just meet anyone in the CCG right now; she didn't like feeling like she knew nobody. It was a feeling that was starting to grow a little too large, so she was dead-set on fixing that sometime soon. Hopefully this was going to be the start of her actually being able to meet people? { Stats, Traits, & Weapons} - Strength: C-Rank
- Speed: C-Rank
- Aim: A-Rank
- Resilience: B-Rank
- Presence: B-Rank
- Potency: B-Rank
Character Traits:- Gadget Smith - [Requires "Ghost in the Machine".] Thanks to her advanced technological knowledge, Setsuko has the ability to construct basic electronic gadgets. These gadgets can be anything she desires, but appropriate item costs must be paid as per the rules for crafting these items. Items up to A-Rank can be created.
- Ghost in the Machine - Setsuko is exceptionally knowledgeable and skilled with technology of all kinds. When looking to repair, tamper with, create, or otherwise interact with electronics, or when reciting information about electronics, Setsuko is able to do so flawlessly, and up to thrice as fast when compared to someone commercially trained in doing so. Costs associated with doing so are reduced by 10%, not stacking with any other benefits.
{ Kagune} RC Type: Koukaku (+Resilience, -Speed) Kagune Description:Setsuko's Kagune takes the shape of a riot-shield of sorts. The mass of the Kagune itself coils around her left arm, and spreads out upon reaching mid-way down her forearm. Keeping up the same blood red color most Kagune tend to have, Setsuko's is no different. In place of a sort of glass barrier that would normally be on the shield, a cross-hatched pattern of the same Kagune-steel material is there instead, still offering Setsuko a strong amount of sight through the shield, while protecting her face against a fair amount of oncoming attacks against her. Kagune Traits:- Sturdy - A Weapon with this Trait is exceptionally sturdy when compared to others. While manifested, the user's Resilience is treated as one Rank higher than usual (on top of Kagune bonuses if applicable) for the purposes of Kagune Durability, but this weapon, under any circumstances, cannot be used for an attack.
{ Quinque} { Izanami no Mikoto} Name: Izanami no Mikoto Rank: B RC-Type: Ukaku Description: Izanami no Mikoto is a Ukaku Quinque of rather simplistic design. The weapon itself takes the form of a fully-automatic rifle; more closely related to that of an AK-12, with the standard blood-red appearance and pulsing waves throughout the weapon itself. Much like a standard AK-12, this Quinque is also heavily fit with attachment rails, allowing for various different options to be additive should someone decide to make these attachments for the weapon in time. Traits:- Attachment Ready - A Quinque with this Trait has been designed around the ability to have multiple attachments put onto the weapon itself, allowing for the same Quinque to be used in multiple different ways, dependent on those that are sought to be installed on the weapon. This Quinque has a number of "Attachment Points" based on the user's Presence Rank, granting two points per rank. Every Attachment Item with a Minor Item Trait takes up one of these points to be socketed on to this Quinque, while every Attachment Item with a Major Item Trait takes up two points to socket. This is the only Trait that this Quinque can have, and the only Quinque that can be brought into a thread. At the beginning of a thread, the attachments currently on this weapon must be listed.

Double checking the location listed on their phone, Wynne looked out for their partner. They were working currently, so they had on their usual outfit of a long black robe with white cuff links and a collar. On top of this was a fanny pack wrapped around their waist where they kept their two beloved Quinque. Always within reach, just in case something unexpected happened. Setsuko Fujikawa was the woman they were paired with today, and they were pretty sure they could see her now. Unless it was another person with maroon colored hair and a large white trench-coat. Doubtful, especially with the briefcase by her side. That was usually a telltale sign of an investigator. And something Wynne might have to bring if they ever got a bigger Quinque than the ones they currently had. Walking towards the taller woman, Wynne stuck out their hand to greet her. “Hello, I’m Wynne Hikaru, a pleasure to meet you.” First impressions were always important, especially since their life would be in each other's hands. The ghoul the two were hunting was only C rank, but that was still around their power level. Even if it was a two v one fight, they still needed to be on their guard. Ghouls were dangerous, and could heal from a variety of wounds. Wynne could not. "Do we have any specific strategies for dealing with our target? As for me, I prefer long range and can enhance both of us thanks to my Quinque." Figuring out what the two were going to do before they began was always a smart idea. Something they learned when they were growing up. If you went into battle without a plan, you would usually come to regret it. And by then it would be too late. Misinformation out on the field was a cause of quite a few deaths for investigators. All it took was one mistake from a party member, and a whole formation could come tumbling down. { Stats, Traits, & Weapons} - Strength: C-Rank
- Speed: B-Rank
- Aim: B-Rank
- Resilience: C-Rank
- Presence: B-Rank
- Potency: B-Rank
Character Traits:- Botany (Minor) - A character with this Trait has longstanding time spent around plants and studying them, and has since gained a moderate level of knowledge regarding how to use them. This can include making items from them such as but not limited to: Poisons, Salves, Minor drugs, etc.
- Shopkeeper's Word (Major) - A character with this Trait has spent a tremendous amount of time and effort with crafting items and bartering with people for such items. Because of this, they have gained an expert level of knowledge regarding crafting, creating, and buying such items. Due to this, whenever they buy or craft an item, they are able to get it at a 10% discount price which stacks the more items they buy/craft at once but cannot exceed a 50% discount. [Upgraded version of "Craftsman" and "Silver Tongue."]
{ Quinque} Name: Serenity Rank: B RC-Type: Ukaku Description: Serenity takes on the form of a small pistol-like gun that shoots beneficial projectiles and is unable to harm. While normally wielded with one hand, it can be comfortably shot with two if the need arises. The color of the weapon is a mixture of pink and black and is easy to carry. Traits: - Advanced Element (Enhancement) (Major) - A weapon with this Trait is able to produce significant beneficial effects when hitting a target with its projectile such as increasing their strength, speed, aim, or resilience. This trait can gives its target a total amount of buffs based on the user's Presence. (Rank C = 1 Buff, Rank B = 2 Buffs, etc.) The stat buffed can only be increased up to the rank of the weapon's durability and can only go up ranks based on the weapon strength. (C Rank Weapon Strength = C Rank buff, B Rank Weapon Strength = B Rank buff, etc.)
Cost: 2000 Ryo (Base) + 1000 Ryo (Major Trait) = 3000 Ryo ~~~~~Name: Yoso (Mass-Produced) Rank: C RC-Type: Ukaku Description:Yoso is a dark gray pistol that can be wielded in one hand. The projectiles fired from it are able to be imbued with elemental effects, making the weapon useful against ghouls. This weapon is usually used by up and coming investigators who prefer to fight at a range. Traits:- Simple Element - A Weapon with this Trait is able to produce simple effects based on raw elements; producing small fires through superheating RC cells, heavily clumping RC cells together in order to produce a small electrical current, etc. This trait can inflict wounds based on the user's Potency, minus two, to a minimum of C-Rank.

“Hello, I’m Wynne Hikaru, a pleasure to meet you.” Turning her head around to acknowledge a new person's voice, Setsuko was pleasantly surprised from seeing a hand held out in front of her. Gently grabbing Wynne's hand, Setsuko shook it with a nod. "So, you're Wynne," she said, "I couldn't agree more; it's uh, also a pleasure to meet you!" She gave her fellow Investigator a friendly smile. After a few short moments, she let go of their hand, and took in their appearance once more; seemed exactly as their picture on the CCG's mainframe showed. Nothing out of the ordinary in that regard; that was certainly good to hear.
Listening to the question they'd asked, Setsuko stowed her phone in one of her coat's pockets, and tapped her chin to think. "Seems we're both similar combatants," she said, "I'm also somewhat of a ranged fighter. That's not to say that I can't defend us, should uh, something go sour. Just in case, you're familiar with the Q Squad, right?" If they said yes, Setsuko was going to spare them the explanation. If not, she'd give them a quick run-down; "basically, we're Investigators that, in some way or another, have a Kagune. We're we're sort of a half-breed, if that makes any sense. I can promise you that I'm uh, not a foe; quite the opposite, in fact!"
Taking a deep breath, she decided to inquire more about that 'enhancing Quinque' they seemed to have. "I'm interested, though; what might you mean by 'enhancing Quinque'? What kind of enhancements are you uh, referring to?" Truth be told, Setsuko very much enjoyed learning about others' Quinque; she felt it was something that seemed to be a reflection of others' personalities. Only time would tell if this assumption was going to ring true with Wynne or not. She was continuing to grow ever curious about them as time went on; not to mention that Quinque they made mention of.
"So!" she started excitedly, "if you don't mind my asking, what drew you to the CCG? Surely something had to stick out to incline you toward joining, no?" She decided to calm down with the questions for the time being, as to give them time to answer. The last thing she wanted to do was overwhelm her current partner, especially given they were going to be looking after each others' lives in the near future. She'd only hoped she hadn't come off as too much, as, much as Wynne felt too, first impressions absolutely were important. She simply smiled at them while she awaited a response.

Smiling back at Setsuko, Wynne softly shook their partner’s hand. "Seems we're both similar combatants," she said, "I'm also somewhat of a ranged fighter. That's not to say that I can't defend us, should uh, something go sour. Just in case, you're familiar with the Q Squad, right?" Narrowing their eyes in thought, Wynne gave her a half shrug. “Kind of? I’ve heard a little bit about them at least.” “Basically, we're Investigators that, in some way or another, have a Kagune. We're we're sort of a half-breed, if that makes any sense. I can promise you that I'm uh, not a foe; quite the opposite, in fact!"
Nodding their head, Wynne looked at Setsuko in a new light. She was like them in a way. Not exactly the same, but close enough. “I understand. I’m somewhat similar as I had a ghoul father and a human mother. I don’t have a Kagune though, I’m just able to learn things at an increased rate.” Did Setsuko have one ghoul parent and one human one as well? If so, why had she manifested a Kagune and they didn’t? What was the deciding factor that made the two come out so different? Maybe they would one day find an answer to their questions, but not now. Their knowledge didn't extend that far.
“As for my enhancements, I can enhance your strength, your aim, your speed, and your toughness. I have to shoot you to do it, but the bullet doesn’t harm you so you don’t have to worry about that. The specifics of it are pretty technical, but it works. I’ve tested it extensively!” Serenity was a great Quinque, and Wynne was quite thankful for it. They had created it in a burst of inspiration and were still impressed by how good it turned out. “What about you? What is your Quinque like? From what you were saying, it’s ranged as well?”
"If you don't mind my asking, what drew you to the CCG? Surely something had to stick out to incline you toward joining, no?" Shaking their head, Wynne rubbed their shoulder awkwardly. “For people like me, we didn’t really have a choice in joining the CCG. I was born and raised in one of their facilities and this job was expected of me. It’s not too bad, even if it's quite dangerous.” Frowning at the memory, Wynne looked off into the distance. They hadn’t had a normal childhood, and they weren’t sure what one was like. The CCG was all they knew, for better or worse.

Hearing Wynne's words about their past, Setsuko couldn't help but think back to her own. "I see we've both landed in similar circumstances," she said, "seems like that may be something we can bond over." She'd been in a similar family situation, that much was for sure, sharing the same idea of having a Ghoul for a father. Even just the thought of her own father disgusted her. She shook her head, trying to get those thoughts out of her mind. Now wasn't the time or place for any of that, and she wasn't going to allow any of that to take root if she could help it. She'd have her opportunity somewhere down the line. Even if it wasn't at this very moment, she'd be able to take that chance sometime in the future.
Upon the switch in topics to Wynne's Quinque, Setsu couldn't help but listen carefully as her face lit up with excitement. Seems as though even when compared to Quinque that held their own unique abilities, Wynne's was a step further beyond. Something like that was interesting to say the least. She'd have to learn more, with this mission hopefully permitting her to do so. Ultimately, this was going to make for a perfect show of ability if all went well. Provided significant hard didn't befall either of them, this mission was going to make for something rather interesting for Setsuko.
“What about you? What is your Quinque like? From what you were saying, it’s ranged as well?” Setsuko nodded as she was pulled out of her thoughts. "That it is! It has its bases in Russian weaponry, taking after a newer model of firearm as opposed to what you'd normally expect from a standard Quinque. As such, it's like, designed to be as customizable as I could possibly hope. If all goes well, I should have some handmade gear that should be able to easily socket onto it and fuse with the Kakuhou, as to allow it to all form together when being manifested each time."
Setsuko's weapon was something she was proud of, in truth. Despite never actually having the chance to have used it yet, she couldn't help but feel that the Quinque was going to be a powerful asset to her field work. Nonetheless, she went on to continue a conversation with Wynne, asking about their choice in the CCG. “For people like me, we didn’t really have a choice in joining the CCG. I was born and raised in one of their facilities and this job was expected of me. It’s not too bad, even if it's quite dangerous.” Setsuko let out a soft sigh, and nodded her head.
"I absolutely understand that. I'll be the first to admit I didn't really have a solid say in the matter regarding my position, especially considering the fact that I am what I am too. It's.... it's hard being stuck in between both worlds. While naturally we're not quite the same, I absolutely understand where your struggles are. I'm going through some of them myself. If you need someone to reach out to, I'm definitely here to offer advice where I can."

Setsuko’s Quinque was modeled after a firearm, similar to theirs. But while Serenity took on the form of a pistol, their partner’s form was one of a much larger gun. It had to be as well, considering that they planned on adding future attachments to it. Serenity’s size was useful in the fact that Wynne could wear it on their person inconspicuously, but it came at the price of not being that powerful. Which was fine since that was what it was intended for.
“The same to you Setsuko, thank you for offering.” It was nice knowing someone here at the CCG understood what they were going through and cared. Sure Wynne had met others from Sunlight Garden before, but they hadn’t been as kind as Setsuko. Instead they seemed focused on their job, mindless robots out to do the CCG’s bidding. And although Wynne did the same, they were anything but mindless.
“As for our mission, how experienced are you in fighting ghouls? For me personally, I’m not that experienced, but I have trained extensively with my Quinque. I shouldn’t hold us back at the very least.” Ghouls were hard to find, especially weak ones. And the majority of the time, if a low ranked investigator ran into them, it would be the last ghoul they faced. Ghouls were superior to humans, that was just how it was. Investigators were only able to narrow down that large gap through training and Quinque. Something new investigators didn’t have much of.

Setsuko nodded as Wynne acknowledged her comment on being there for them. Simply put, it was the right thing to offer in a situation like this. Whether or not she expected Wynne to act on something like that was up in the air; she wasn't going to be surprised nor turn them down if they did, but at the same time, she did mean her words in a somewhat 'empty' way. She was never that good with emotions, whether that be understanding her own or those of others around her. That wasn't to say she was emotionally dead, quite the opposite. She was just incompetent in most circumstances.
“As for our mission, how experienced are you in fighting ghouls? For me personally, I’m not that experienced, but I have trained extensively with my Quinque. I shouldn’t hold us back at the very least.” Setsuko placed a finger to her chin once more, and went on to speak after Wynne finished. "I can't say I've too much experience myself. I don't have any through the CCG, but I've held my own once before against someone I thought I knew fairly well, so I do know I've got quite the capacity for defense should push come to shove. I'll definitely do what I can to make sure that neither of us die, that much is for sure." With that, she chuckled at her own somewhat morbid sense of humor.
Looking down at her phone, Setsu went over the mission report one final time, just to make sure she had an understanding of it. To make things easier on the two of them, she decided to read it aloud. "Just for the sake of reminders - and to make sure I personally didn't miss any details - we're to investigate a mister Wanai Gurude. Seems as though he runs a book club just down the street from here. If everything here is correct, he should be opening his doors within the hour. If suspicions are correct, we've been green-lit to engage as soon as we see a Kagune. Thankfully doesn't seem like anything too difficult for us!"

Neither of the two had much experience fighting, but that was part of the reason they were on this mission to begin with. Their opponent was around their level, and by defeating them they’d get the combat experience needed for stronger opponents. And after that, they’d repeat the process until they had all of the skills they needed. It would be dangerous, but that was what they had to deal with as Investigators. Regardless if they were ready or not.
“Should we arrive early to scope the place out? It would be nice to know the layout of the area before we have to fight in it. Could set up traps too if the opportunity arises.” Being prepared was one of the easiest ways to get an advantage in battle. Wanai Gurude wasn’t aware the two were coming, and they could use that to their advantage. But they also had to be careful to not let any civilians get hurt in the process. That was part of their duty as Investigators.

Doing a bit of a stretch, Setsuko nodded. "That's definitely a good idea. Might be a little bit on the difficult side to get a warrant to get inside on such short notice, but considering we already know the suspect's name, location, and all that jazz, we can probably get it approved pretty quickly if the cards fall right." Changing her grip as to hold her phone with one hand, Setsuko started to type away while keeping her eyes on Wynne. "I'll see what I can do about getting us a warrant here in the next hour. I'm definitely willing to head to Wanai's little meet-up spot though, if you wanted to get going now."
Assuming the two of them were headed over there, Setsuko would follow at Wynne's side, occasionally glancing down at her phone in order to make sure what she was typing was actually correct. She had memorized her phone's keyboard for the most part, but it was by no means perfect. She'd need to see what she could do in order to potentially upgrade her tech at some point, but that would have to come down the line, when she could actually afford to do something like that. For the time being, she was stuck with not much more than what her phone currently allowed for.
"From what I've heard, we'll be headed to this ward's local library for that meeting of his. Once we get there, I should be able to pretty easily get us access to the place's security system. You've got a phone on you, yeah? If you'd like, I've got no problem sharing the feed with you, just in case this asshole decides to hide on us. At the moment it's more of a 'just in case' thing, but y'never know when something like that could be useful, y'know? Oh, also; one thing I wanted to ask you. How are you with confrontation? I get that we'll be risking our lives, but the last thing I'm looking to do is put you in a situation you're uncomfortable in on top of that, y'know?"

“Yeah we can start moving now.” Walking down the sidewalk with Setsuko in tow, Wynne prepared themselves for the upcoming altercation. If they were being honest, they were a little nervous. Since they were meeting at a public place, quite a few things could go wrong. And the thing that worried them the most was involving innocents in their fight. Sure they were arriving early, but there was still that chance. At least Setsuko was there with them, which helped their nerves somewhat. Doing this alone would be hell.
“Yeah, sharing the feed with me is probably for the best. Just in case something unexpected happens.” Better to have too much information than not enough. “I’m alright with confrontation. At least as long as I have a partner. Not really too confident when I’m alone ya know? But I should be fine with you here at least.” Having a partner by their side gave them a decent bit of confidence, and they’d be sure to use it. Two minds were better than one.
“If we expose him while talking, do you think he would immediately attack us? We’d be pretty close to him which might be a problem. I dunno, there’s so many things that could happen, and we won’t know until we’re actually there. Hopefully it all goes okay though.” Once they got the warrant and the time was right, the mission would truly begin. If only Wynne could calm their fast beating heart. They were an Investigator for goodness sake, they needed to get it together!

Upon the mention of sharing the camera feed with her partner, Setsuko nodded. "Not a problem," she spoke, swiping up on her phone and turning her body more to face them, "I'll send it to whichever email you've on file, if you're okay with that! If you need it sent somewhere else, just say the word and it'll be done! Expect a ping from that no later than five minutes after we arrive; it should absolutely be squared away by then!" Whether that was Setsuko just being overconfident in her work, or something else was something that could be left up for debate. Ultimately, she didn't even know herself. All she knew was that she was going to get it done in that time frame, as she wasn't about to lie to her partner if she could help it. Such would show incompetency, and Setsuko vehemently refused to bear incompetency.
“I’m alright with confrontation. At least as long as I have a partner. Not really too confident when I’m alone ya know? But I should be fine with you here at least.” Setsuko couldn't help but smile at the sound of those words. She was glad they were willing to put that much trust into her, when push came to shove. Truth be told, it meant quite a bit to her, whether she showed it or not. "Well, I'm glad to hear that Wynne," she said, "glad to see I can give you that little boost of confidence! I've a feeling that this mission is going to go rather swimmingly; here's to hoping we make a fairly good pair in the heat of battle."
“If we expose him while talking, do you think he would immediately attack us? We’d be pretty close to him which might be a problem. I dunno, there’s so many things that could happen, and we won’t know until we’re actually there. Hopefully it all goes okay though.” Setsu chuckled softly as Wynne spoke. "Everything should be okay, I promise you that much. He is only a C-Rated Ghoul, thankfully, so this mission shouldn't be all too difficult for us. From what we know, Wanai seems to have a slight temperamental problem, so there's a very good chance he'll turn hostile the moment we make mention of his disgusting nature." Setsuko's grip around her phone tightened a bit as her brow furrowed. "The very moment he tries anything, I promise you we'll stomp him out like the dog he is; we'll throw him to the ground and rip out his-"
"Oh!" Setsu cut off her own words as her phone sounded a notification. "I've good news, seems as though we've gotten that warrant!" Looking to her left, Setsuko pointed to a building less than a block away; the library. The building itself seemed quite new compared to the other buildings in the area. Unlike everything that had begun to show signs of mild dilapidation, the library itself remained absolutely pristine, as though it had been built within the last couple of years. "Right on time, too, from the looks of it. Judging by the time, seems as though he'll be here within the next five-ish minutes or so, give or take. Gives us plenty of time to set up, should we need to!"
Gently cracking her neck, Setsuko turned her phone sideways, and began to feverishly type away at a darkened screen. "If you need any time to prepare yourself, physically or mentally, now is absolutely the time, friend. I'll be finished here...." she said, pausing for a quick second while still typing, "...now. The live feed is being sent over to you as we speak!" Slinging her currently-stored Quinque over her shoulder, Setsuko turned her vision back to Wynne while keeping her phone screen within her own sight. "Here's to the start of a hopefully prosperous partnership!"

"I'll send it to whichever email you've on file, if you're okay with that! If you need it sent somewhere else, just say the word and it'll be done! Expect a ping from that no later than five minutes after we arrive; it should absolutely be squared away by then!" “Yep, that’s fine.” They were already logged in on their work email on their phone, so getting the email sent there was for the best. More convenient that way.
“I've a feeling that this mission is going to go rather swimmingly; here's to hoping we make a fairly good pair in the heat of battle." “Here’s to hoping.” Nodding their head at Setsuko, Wynne wondered where she got all of her confidence from. Was it from her strength, or something more? They didn’t know if the mission would go swimmingly so to speak, but if their partner thought so, why couldn’t it be?
According to Setsuko, Wanai had a temper problem. Something they could use to their advantage. Wynne was taught to keep their head cool in fights, as hot temperaments usually led to an investigator’s death. They must remain calm and collected, no matter what their opponents throw at them. Setsuko also seemed quite eager to beat him. Quite brutally from the sound of things before she cut herself off. Looking at Setsuko worriedly, Wynne wondered just how their partner would fare in battle. They had asked about her strength, but not her mindset.
As they continued their walk, the library where this would all go down came into view. They also received a warrant, so the only thing left was to wait for their target to arrive. Pulling out their phone, Wynne opened up the library’s feed on their phone. Judging from the brief looks they gave each camera view, nothing seemed outwardly strange. Which was expected, but still nice to see. At least they shouldn’t be getting ambushed the moment they walked inside.
“Here’s to the start.” Giving Setsuko a shaky thumbs up and an awkward smile, Wynne looked up at the looming building in front of them. It was a place of learning, a place of refuge, a place of safety. One that Wanai was corrupting. It was unacceptable, and he needed to be put down. The idea of such a thing was chilling, but it was necessary. To save the lives of the many, sacrifices had to be made. And as an Investigator, Wynne had to be willing to make that sacrifice. Wanai would either be captured or dead by the end of the day. That was the only acceptable outcome. “I’m ready.”

“I’m ready.”
With a nod of her head, Setsuko gently pressed open the doors to the library. Things were truly about to begin. Her first real mission, and attempt to take down a Ghoul. If all went well, this payout was going to be rather rewarding. Not only that, but think of the Qunique that this ghoul was going to make! She was beginning to grow ever excited, to the point where she was struggling to contain herself. Taking a deep breath, she turned back to smile at Wynne. "Then let's do this~!" She spoke with a cheer, followed by turning her head back to the library in front of her.
Simply walking into the library's main room, Setsuko kept an eye on the camera feed, cycling back and forth between the different cameras available throughout the building at rather breakneck speeds. Letting out a soft sigh, Setsuko turned to Wynne and spoke with a hushed voice. "He's only just now arriving. I presume he's probably entering through the front door, so we should probably stay out of eyeshot of that for the time being. That said, once he makes his way to whatever meeting room he's looking to for his little book club, we should be able to cut him off! That said, it's a matter of timing that to make sure that no civilians get caught in the crossfire, y'know?"
Turning back to the camera feed, Setsuko took in as much detail as she possibly could from what she saw. Wanai looked to be no younger than likely 60, definitely having an aged look to him. If he was standing up straight, the man had to have been on the shorter side of five feet tall, and seemed to be relatively skinny. When it came to the typical residents of this area of the thirteenth ward, he'd likely stick out like a sore thumb; Shibuya was a cultural hotspot. Someone of his age didn't really "belong" in a place like that. They'd likely have no problem finding him from here on out.
"Seems he's headed toward the back rooms." Setsuko pointed deeper into the main hall of the library, motioning to sets of rooms that looked like smaller conference rooms back at the CCG Headquarters in the first ward. "I'd assume he's probably looking to set himself up over there before what he thinks is going to be that club of his. I'd like to think that we've a chance to take this outside of the building, but on the off-chance that we get stuck remaining in here, are you all right with the possibility of engaging in such a tight space? I can definitely do what I can to keep you safe, but naturally I can't promise anything. So, is that something you'd be okay with doing?"

Following Setsuko into the library, Wynne watched their surroundings as their partner looked through their phone. Their target had just got to the library as well, heading towards the room where his book club took place. Assuming they got their timing right, they’d be able to cut him off when there were no civilians nearby. Which would be the perfect opportunity to deal with them. Between the two of them, Wynne doubted Wanai would be able to flee. If he tried, he’d just get shot in the back, as long range was their group’s specialty.
Going to a nearby vending machine, Wynne quickly bought a simple chocolate snack bar as Setsuko discussed what was happening. The reason for the snack was simple, to see if Wanai was a ghoul or not. Once they cornered the man, they would ask him to eat the snack. If he refused, they’d take him into custody. If he ate it, they would know soon enough what he truly was.
“Although I don’t really like it, I’m fine with it. Sometimes we can’t choose the location we fight in. Also I bought this so we can get Wanai to eat it to see if he’s a ghoul.” Showing Setsuko the candy bar, Wynne would offer it to her if she chose to accept it. Whoever had the bar would be the one interrogating Wanai, and Setsuko seemed to be the perfect person for such a thing. Wynne could of course do so if required, but they doubted that would be the case this time around.

Setsuko couldn't help but smile as she gently took the candy bar from them. "Let me just say that this is is brilliant! Truth be told I wouldn't've thought of this, I was more itching to get to the fight." Setsuko chuckled to herself, taking a few steps in either direction to get a good vantage point from the back room. So long as the two of them weren't seen upon his entering, they should've been okay. Within a few short moments, Wanai was within sight. The man had slowly begun to walk toward his little room, and Setsuko mentally prepared herself for the ambush that was going to come. The very moment he sat down, Setsuko immediately stood up, and slowly began to walk over to him. Assuming Wynne was also going to follow, she was going to walk alongside them. Approaching with a smile, Setsuko simply waved as she gently pulled out a chair around the table, and sat down facing Wanai. "Well, hello there," Wanai spoke, his voice surprisingly soft, "have you two heard of the book club that's held here every week? Are you looking to participate?" If she didn't know any better, she wouldn't've been able to tell this man was a Ghoul. He seemed genuinely friendly; very, very good at faking friendliness with an investigator. "Yes and no," Setsuko said, gently leaning into the table, "we've heard of this little club, but joining isn't quite the reason we're here." Pulling out the candy bar Wynne had the phenomenal idea of purchasing for the mission, Setsuko gently slid it across the table to the man. "You look flushed. Here, perhaps a bit of sugar will help that?"
Taking a few moments to stare at the candy bar, Wanai softly mumbled to himself. Soon enough, that mumble turned into a low chuckle, which quickly devolved into a shouting, cacophonous laughter. Standing up immediately, Setsuko drew backward from the room as Wanai stood up as well. Raising his head to the two investigators, twin Kakugan could clearly be seen in his eyes. "You investigators just don't know when to quit, do you?!" Standing back, Wanai began to arm himself; two Rinkaku tendrils emerged from his lower back, much thinner than what one would normally expect from a Rinkaku. "Very well, then, I was starting to get a bit hungry anyway."{ Wanai's Stats, Traits, & Weapons} - Strength: B-Rank
- Speed: C-Rank
- Aim: C-Rank
- Resilience: B-Rank
- Presence: B-Rank
- Potency: B-Rank
Character Traits:- Durable - Characters with this trait are more durable than the average ghoul or human they would be compared to. While more characters can sustain up to their Resiliency + 1 C rank wound before dying/passing out, this character is capable of further punishment before being knocked out. The character now requires Resiliency + 1 B rank wound before dying/passing out.
- Agile Movement - A Character with this Trait person can run along walls for short distances and dance or jump around obstacles with ease. This is due to long training by running from pursuers and can be quite useful when avoiding attacks.
{ Kagune} RC Type: Rinkaku (+Strength, -Speed) Kagune Description:Wanai's Kagune takes the shape of two mostly-normal Rinkaku tendril, emerging from his lower back. The key trait behind these trendils that stands out amongst Rinkaku is just how thin they are; they're no thicker than an inch at most, allowing them to be easily swung and to pierce through foes with much more ease than standard Rinkaku tendrils. Kagune Traits:- Light-Weapon - A Weapon with this Trait is noticeably lighter than the what it would otherwise appear to be. Whether that's due to materials used in it's construction or just how it's formed is anyone's guess. However the benefit cannot be denied. When using this weapon the user can use Strength in place of Speed for how quickly the weapon can be used. (Offensively and defensively) This however does not replace speed when dodging, thought process, etc. (I.E. The remainder of the applicable uses of Speed.)
{ Setsu's Stats, Traits, & Weapons} - Strength: C-Rank
